Описание
Египетский музей и собрание папирусов (кратко Египетский музей, нем. Ägyptisches Museum und Papyrussammlung) — музей в составе Государственных музеев Берлина. С августа 2005 г. музей временно на четыре года переехал на верхний этаж Старого музея на берлинском Музейном острове. В 2009 г. музей вернётся в восстановленный Новый музей.
The museum originated with the royal art collection of the Prussian kings: it was Alexander von Humboldt who recommended that an Egyptian section be created, and the first objects were brought to Berlin in 1828 under Friedrich Wilhelm III.
The most famous piece on display is the exceptionally well preserved and vividly coloured bust of Queen Nefertiti. The collection was moved from Charlottenburg to the Altes Museum in 2005.
